Review

Not your typical ‘post Taken’ Neeson action flick. Slow burning with nods to hard boiled private eyes of the past. Some of the shots and lighting felt like an early 70’s New York set thriller.

Based on the Lawrence Block book Neeson plays Matt Scudder a recovering alcoholic unlicensed private eye. Neeson does o.k and perhaps this will be the first in a series of Scudder flicks. Plot isn’t anything new but it’s change to Neeson’s usual mindless nonsense. Not bad.
