Bill Murray is excellent in this. The character of Vincent is suitably complex and at first glance is unlikable but as the movie progresses he becomes likable as the viewer learns about him and his past, but as he becomes more likable the movie becomes more sentimental and schmaltzy and loses it’s edge.

Great first half, average second half. As a whole it’s good but not excellent.
